Welcome to Diane Peters' website
It was the summer between my junior and senior years of college. I was working as a summer intern at the Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan. There was a raft race, for the Midland Riverdays festival, and any entries in the race had to use milk jugs for flotation (a recycling theme). I got together with some other summer interns, and we constructed a raft to enter into the race. Our construction method was duct tape - lots of duct tape - so we named our raft the "Lame Duct". We even got our picture in the local paper, the Midland Daily News, with the heading "They Only Look Like They're Sinking". As you can see, our raft tended to fold in the middle. I'm at the far left.
